Algeria is the largest country in Africa (after South Sudan gained independence from Sudan in July 2011). It is also the largest country in the Arab World. It has faced many wars and immense bloodshed right from the beginning of A.D. years - ruled by Vandal kingdom, Rustamid dynasty, Zirid dynasty, Hammadid dynasty, Abdalwadid dynasty, Ottoman empire and then the French rule.
