Argentina | 1957

Country/Region: Argentina
Year: 1957
Occupancy: Spanish (1542-1816)

Trivia

By the look and feel of it, this seems to be a slightly old stamp. It is also supported by the fact that it is of a smaller denomination (2 Peso) which means that Peso wouldn't have been so devalued. 'Official' is not misprinted but is written in Spanish as 'Oficial'. S probably means Senior. Esteban Echeverria (1805-1851) was an Argentine poet, fiction writer & a political activist. He was one of the most prominent romantic authors of Latin America. Philatelia shows it to belong to 1957.

Argentina | Unknown Year

Country/Region: Argentina
Year: Unknown
Occupancy: Spanish (1542-1816)

Trivia

This stamp states its value as 50.000 Pesos. With the constant inflation of Peso, the Argentine currency; decimal point kept on changing its placement to devalue the currency. So a 100.00 could become a 1000.00 if the currency was devalued 10 times. Any more information on the stamp and its year would be helpful.
