Country/Region: Argentina
Year: 1957
Occupancy: Spanish (1542-1816)
Trivia
By the look and feel of it, this seems to be a slightly old stamp. It is also supported by the fact that it is of a smaller denomination (2 Peso) which means that Peso wouldn't have been so devalued. 'Official' is not misprinted but is written in Spanish as 'Oficial'. S probably means Senior. Esteban Echeverria (1805-1851) was an Argentine poet, fiction writer & a political activist. He was one of the most prominent romantic authors of Latin America. Philatelia shows it to belong to 1957.
Wow 1957.... thats a long time.

ReplyDeleteI am planning to put up one stamp a day, just settling in and mustering some courage to be able to do so!
